Katherine Griffis

Katherine began dancing at the age of three when her mother noticed her inability to sit still during violin lessons. She enrolled at Woodbury Dance Center dancing recreationally and later competitively in the styles of tap, jazz, ballet, and lyrical for 15 years. Katherine’s passion for dance was further nurtured at St. Olaf College where she pursued a dance major, graduating magna cum laude with departmental distinction in dance. Upon graduation, she was given the opportunity to perform nationally with Minneapolis-based Stuart Pimsler Dance & Theater for four seasons. Their community engagement work allowed her to create with diverse populations including children, university students, veterans, and healthcare professionals. Katherine finds no greater joy than sharing the love of movement with others and seeing her students grow.
