Policy Agreement & Absence Form
Parents/Dancers please turn in your signed policy agreement and absence form to the studio ASAP. Thank you!
Policy Highlight
Medical Information – Parents must notify the director/and or teachers regarding children who use an inhaler or who may require medications during their time at Woodbury Dance Center. It is also important to inform the director and/or teachers about your child’s existing medical conditions or learning disabilities at the time of registration and throughout the school year. Our teachers are trained professionals who are anxious to work with all children and personalities, and the more we know about your child, the better the dance experience will be for all involved. All information about our students is confidential.
Communicating Competition Line Attendance and Questions
As we are heading into the regular season schedule, we would like to update you on procedures for reporting attendance and communicating questions. Below is some information. Please let us know if you have any questions. Thank you!
Attendance
*Please report absences in the Band App by commenting on the class day/date. These comments can be seen by all dancers/parents in the app as well as teachers.
*For future absences due to vacations where dancers will be missing several classes in a row, please also email [email protected].
Questions
For questions regarding schedules or newsletter information, please contact Buffy at [email protected]. For questions regarding classes and routines, please contact Katia at [email protected].
When dancers have questions regarding class material or routines they can plan to talk to the teacher directly at the end of class.
WDC Tap/Jazz Line Photo Shoot
We are working to schedule Fall photos for our Tiny Teams, Performance Teams and Company lines. Please look for more information to follow soon.
Dance bags!
Cubbies will not be used, and no dance bags will be allowed; however, Comp dancers will now have the option to bring a small shoebox size bin to the studio. They will store their dance shoes, water bottle, yoga block, etc… in the bin during class and will also put their mask in their bin if they remove it during class. They may want to have a small ziplock bag to put their mask in inside their bin.
Warm-up jackets/ Line Apparel
Warm-up jackets are still available for sizing & ordering in the boutique. All WDC competition lines will have the same jacket this year! Jackets are required for company lines, but are optional for Tiny Teams and Performance Teams. Please stop in to try on samples and place an order when you are able – If the boutique is busy with shoe sizing for recreational dancers, you will need to come back another time. Currently 1-2 families will be allowed in the boutique at a time to accommodate social distancing guidelines. Please plan accordingly when shopping at the WDC boutique. We recommend ordering early as some sizes may be on backorder this fall.
New this year – Line apparel such as t-shirts, sweatshirts, sweatpants, etc… will need to be ordered through the studio. We ask that parents do not coordinate apparel orders for their teams without checking with WDC. Look for more information about comp line apparel that will be available through the studio soon.
Recurring billing
Payment requirements – All accounts will be required to have a credit card on file and be signed up for automatic monthly payments for tuition. You will still have the option to pay at the front desk with cash, check or a different card if the payment is received before monthly tuition payments are processed automatically with our online system. Online payments will be automatically processed on the 3rd of each month. Please let us know if you have any questions.
Make up classes
Just a reminder about the attendance policy. Attendance will be taken in ballet/technique classes. Dancers need to make up a class whenever they miss their regular class. However, they will only need to make up one class for each day they miss.
Performance Teams/Company Lines – For missed choreography days, dancers will be required to learn any choreography that they missed and submit a video to their instructor(s) through BAND, text, facebook messenger, etc
Dancers will be required to sign up for make up classes this year to help adhere to class size safety guidelines. You can access the make up class sign ups below, which include a list of appropriate make up classes for each line. This sign up will also be posted to the Band App.
