Dress Rehearsals and Recitals
Don’t forget all needed dance shoes for rehearsals and recitals!! Full costumes need to be worn at dress rehearsal but hair and make-up is not needed until recital. Dancers do not need to arrive early for dress rehearsals but will need to arrive 30 minutes before show times on recital days.
If you have questions regarding dress rehearsals or recitals, please review the Recital Information Packet that was passed out in March. The recital info packet is also posted on our website on the Recital Page. Still need help? Call the studio at 651-735-9252. We are happy to answer any questions you may have.
SHOES — Please double check the listing of color/style of shoes needed for your recreational class HERE. Let us know if you have any questions. Dancers wearing ballet shoes in recital MUST have their drawstrings cut short and tucked in. Leave only about 2 to 3 inches in length before tying a knot and tucking inside the shoes. Thank you!
NEED SHOES? Gently used shoes are being sold at the front desk to raise money for our Darby’s Dancers program, which is a non-profit organization that provides free dance classes to dancers with special needs.
Backstage Volunteers
We are in need of more recital volunteers to help backstage. Please use the link below and sign up online if you are available to help. Parents who are volunteering- put a note in the comment field if you wish to help backstage with a particular class. All recital volunteers receive a $10 WDC gift certificate for each recital they volunteer for backstage. Volunteers must be at least in 6th grade in order to help with recitals. We appreciate your help!
WDC will be hosting an optional, but RECOMMENDED, recital volunteer training at East Ridge High School during dress rehearsal week. During this training we will go over the responsibilities/expectations of volunteers and answer any questions you may have about helping with recitals. The training will take place at ERHS on Wednesday, May 29th from 8:00-8:45pm (please meet in the cafeteria). If you plan to attend the training, please sign up below. Thank you!
